Myanmar Earthquake Relief
April 2025 Dr. Lu Reports :
I write to you from Myanmar, where I’ve been traveling across nearly every region devastated by the recent earthquakes. What I’ve seen has shaken me to the core. Buildings that once stood strong are now reduced to rubble. Entire communities lie in ruins.
Countless lives have been lost, many are injured, and thousands more live in fear and deep trauma. In a matter of moments, people were left with absolutely nothing, only the clothes on their backs. Thousands are now homeless, hopeless, and heartbroken.
In one area we visited, over 400 homes were destroyed as fire broke out during the quake.
Families now live by the roadside with their children, without food, without shelter, and with nowhere to turn. It broke my heart to see them suffer so deeply.
Many elderly survivors, tears streaming down their faces, told me they had never experienced such terror. The earth didn’t just shake side to side; it rose and fell violently. In some places, the swallowed by the earth near a riverbank, never to be seen again.

We’ve now moved from rescue to relief. Our local teams, full of compassion, are working tirelessly in the sweltering heat to bring emergency aid and trauma counseling to those suffering physical and emotional wounds. Survivors are still lacking food, clean water, medicine, and shelter. Water systems, tanks, and wells were destroyed. Many villages urgently need water purifiers and sanitation supplies just to survive.​

The men, women, and children of Myanmar are suffering beyond belief. Many have lost their homes and livelihoods in the last three years of war, the typhoon last fall, and now this devastating disaster. The physical, emotional, and spiritual toll is great.
