Earthquake Devastates Central Myanmar
Update April 24, 2025
Nearly 7 weeks after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake ripped through central Myanmar, survivors are now dealing with grief and despair at how to go on with life. Most have experienced the death of close family members, homes are destroyed or unsafe to occupy, and their source of income is most likely gone.

Asia Frontier Outreach Director, Dr. Lu, has just been working alongside aide workers at the earthquake site. He reports:

"I write to you from Myanmar, where I’ve been traveling across nearly every region devastated by the recent earthquakes. What I’ve seen has shaken me to the core. Buildings that once stood strong are now reduced to rubble. Entire communities lie in ruins.
Countless lives have been lost, many are injured, and thousands more live in fear and deep trauma. In a matter of moments, people were left with absolutely nothing, only the clothes on their backs. Thousands are now homeless, hopeless, and heartbroken.
