What's the Story?Of the 1.3 million Myanmar citizens that AFO works with, 30% are Christians. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that they have a Bible. One might wonder; how then, did they learn the Word of God? On average, 20-30 people share a single Bible, and many pastors hand-write scripture from a borrowed Bible in order to preach the gospel! The Bible currently used by Lisu people was simply translated from English over one hundred years ago. With this in mind, a team of Bible scholars and Lisu Christian leaders put their heads together to completed not only a new translation, but a version of great accuracy. Having a Bible translated directly from ancient Hebrew and Greek texts will bless the lives of Lisu people and transform their hearts for eternity. |
What is the Goal of the Bible Project? After 5 years of tireless work, it's finally time for printing and distribution! Through faith and prayer, our goal is to print an initial 10,000 Bibles for the Lisu people. By striving to be the hands and feet of Jesus, we can bless the lives of Lisu communities with our resources. Let's join arms to grow the family of God and transform Lisu lives! |
